OUR STORY
MORE THAN A CARD SHOP

WHERE IT STARTED
Built on a passion
The story of Showtime Sports Cards began long before we opened our doors on August 9, 2025. Founded by Christopher Sr. and Brenda, Showtime grew from a love for the hobby that had already been part of their lives and family for decades.
For Christopher Sr., cards were never just something to collect. From buying and selling baseball cards throughout high school and college, and even using what he earned to help purchase his first car, he recognized their value long before Showtime existed. That passion eventually led him to open his first card shop, MVP Collectibles in Gainesville, Virginia, marking an early chapter in a journey that would eventually come full circle.
Cards even became part of Christopher Sr. and Brenda’s own love story. Christopher Sr. once had Brenda believing they were going to sell one of his cards a 1993 Topps Finest Frank Thomas Refractor #102. Instead, he used the moment to surprise her with a diamond ring and ask her to marry him. The card was never sold, and they still have it in their personal collection today, turning one piece of the hobby into a permanent piece of their family’s story.
As their family grew, the hobby grew with them. Cards were always around. Christopher Sr. passed his knowledge and passion on to his sons, teaching them how to collect, buy, sell, and understand the value behind the cards. Today, he’s doing the same with his grandson, Christopher III, continuing a family tradition that now spans three generations.
Alongside him, Brenda helped turn that passion into the family business Showtime is today. As Co-Founder, she brings the creative vision that helps make Showtime feel like Showtime. With a natural eye for aesthetics, she’s often the final word when something needs that finishing touch. From the look and feel of the shop to birthday party planning and special details, Brenda helps shape the experience we want people to have when they visit.

THE PERFECT PARTNERSHIP

MEET THE SHOWTIME FAMILY
A Family Built Around the Hobby

Today, Showtime is truly a family business. Christopher Jr. grew up surrounded by the hobby and now helps carry that passion forward. His wife, Sheyla, supports Chris and the family business behind the scenes, managing Showtime’s social media presence while helping polish the website, marketing, and the way we share our story with the community.
Cannon serves as a brand ambassador for Showtime, representing the shop at major card shows, events, and throughout the collecting community. With his outgoing personality and ability to connect with people, he’s also a natural spokesperson for the brand. Whether he’s traveling to shows, meeting fellow collectors, or out representing the Showtime logo, Cannon helps bring our name beyond the storefront and into the places where the hobby comes together. He also lends a hand with select graphics and branded materials along the way.
Ricky serves as our Store Manager and is an important part of the day-to-day operations at Showtime. With deep roots in the hobby and years of knowledge and experience, he helps keep the shop running while building genuine relationships with the collectors who walk through our doors. His passion for cards, understanding of the hobby, and connection with our customers make him an invaluable part of the Showtime family.Nate helps take Showtime beyond Culpeper by managing our eBay store, connecting our inventory with collectors across the country, and extending the Showtime experience far beyond our storefront. As Head of our Grading Department, he also oversees the grading process, helping ensure our cards are carefully evaluated, prepared, and submitted.
BEYOND THE STOREFRONT
Showtime at The National
Now in our fourth year attending The National Sports Collectors Convention, our involvement in the collecting community reaches far beyond our Culpeper storefront. We love being part of the larger hobby community, meeting fellow collectors, building relationships, and representing Showtime wherever the hobby takes us.

THE NEXT GENERATION
The Tradition Continues

With Christopher III already learning about cards alongside his grandfather, the family tradition continues into its third generation. For Showtime, the hobby has always been about more than what’s inside a case or the value printed on a card. It’s about the stories, memories, relationships, and traditions built around them, the same things that have connected our family to the hobby for decades.
Showtime Sports Cards is more than a place to buy, sell, and trade cards. It’s a family-built business rooted in a genuine love for the hobby, shaped by generations, and centered around creating a place where collectors, kids, and families feel welcome. We’re proud to call Culpeper home, grateful for the community that continues to support us, and excited to see where the next generation takes Showtime.
